8 Licensing
8.1 How is Licensing Handled?
VASCO products are licensed per Component record in the data store. The licensing relies upon
a License Key which is checked when the SBR Plug-In starts. This License Key is tied to the
location (IP address) where the SBR Plug-In is installed, and stored in the Component record
for the SBR Plug-In.
The SBR Plug-In will not start up without a correct License Key.
Evaluation Licenses
An evaluation license means that you can use its full functionality until the evaluation period
runs out. At the end of this period, you will need to either uninstall the product or buy a
permanent license. Contact your distributor or the appropriate VASCO Reseller representative
to acquire the licences you will need. For your convenience, the evaluation serial number is
embedded in the installation program. You will still need to obtain and load a license key.
8.2 Licensing Parameters

Parameter Value
Product The name of the VASCO product, eg. Digipass Plug-In for SBR.
Component The type of Component licensed, eg. SBR Plug-In.
Version Current version number of the licensed VASCO product.
Location The IP address for the machine represented by the Component record.
Company The name of your company.
Username Your name.
SerialNo The serial number for the VASCO product.
Generated The date and time that the license file was generated.
Expires Used for evaluation license only – expiry date.
Signature Encrypted combination of the above parameters.
