Catwalks may seem trivial when compared to the rest of the
shoothouse, but they are more important than you might think.
While most of today’s facilities are equipped with AAR and
other instrumentation systems, the catwalk is still a critical
observation point for your controllers to provide instant
feedback and instruction to the trainees below.
Action Target’s catwalks are welded sections of solid steel
runners that can span up to 20 feet between supports. This
gives you spanning and viewing access to larger rooms and
longer hallways than with other catwalk systems. Catwalks can
be supported at any point along the tops of the walls so you
can customize your layout to best meet your specific needs.
All of the steel assemblies are hot dip galvanized to prevent
rust and ensure long life, including the welds. This eliminates
the need for paint, stain, water seal, or other materials required
to maintain the catwalk system.
Catwalks should be able to handle the weight of a full load of
observers not just on day one, but on day five thousand and
one as well. Unlike a wooden catwalk, the steel construction of
the Action Target catwalk system is impervious to weather,
cracking, and rot. It provides a reliable, long-term solution to your
controller, observer, and other VIP viewing needs, and a stable
platform for all staff required for your various training events.
