This model of the Sherman was identical to the later models of the M4 Sherman standard model with the<br />
welded hull and superstructure (that is, with two-way radio and no driver machineguns), except that the engine<br />
was replaced by two GM 6-71 diesel engines. 8,053 of this model were built before production was stopped<br />
in favor of later models.<br />
