The following charts give the nomenclature for the American ammunition, penetration, in millimeters, of nonface-hardened
(homogeneous) armor plate at the ranges shown for the weapons mounted on American vehicles
and those provided as antitank weapons. In addition to these types of ammunition, high explosive and smoke
ammunition was also provided for many weapons. Hand-held antitank weapon capabilities are given
for comparison.
