O QUE É A RINDAT .<br />

A Re<strong>de</strong> Integrada Nacional <strong>de</strong> Detecção <strong>de</strong> Descargas Atmosféricas<br />

(RINDAT) é uma re<strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong> sensores e centrais que permitem <strong>de</strong>tectar em<br />

tempo real as <strong>de</strong>scargas atmosféricas nuvem-solo, isto é, a maior parte<br />

das <strong>de</strong>scargas que atingem o solo, em parte do território brasileiro.<br />

A RINDAT foi criada a partir <strong>de</strong> um convênio <strong>de</strong> cooperação técnico-<br />

científico entre quatro instituições: a CEMIG (Companhia Energética <strong>de</strong><br />

Minas Gerais), FURNAS (Furnas Centrais Elétricas), o INPE (Instituto<br />

Nacional <strong>de</strong> Pesquisas Espaciais) e o SIMEPAR (Sistema <strong>Meteorológico</strong><br />

do Paraná).<br />

CATCH Calculates the precipitation accumulation in subcatchment areas such as<br />

watershed areas.<br />

COMP Produces a single composite image of radar data from many different radar sites.<br />

NDOP Provi<strong>de</strong>s a mechanism for including velocity (Doppler) data from another radar<br />
