SQLSetConnectOption Syntax status = SQLSetConnectOption (connect.env, option, value) Note: This function is case-sensitive. If you want it to be case-insensitive, you must compile your programs using the BASIC command with the -i option. Description SQLSetConnectOption controls some aspects of the connection to a data source. Parameters The following table describes each paramenter of the syntax. Options The following table describes the options available with SQLSetConnectOption. Option Description SQL.AUTO.COMMIT Determines the commit mode for transactions. When you use this option, the connection must already be established, and the SQL.PRIVATE.TX option must be set to SQL.PRIVATE.TX.ON. Valid settings are: SQL.AUTO.COMMIT.ON – Puts a private connection into autocommit mode. SQL.AUTO.COMMIT.OFF – Puts a private connection into manual commit mode. SQL.PRIVATE.TX Determines if a transaction is controlled by UniBasic or the data source. Valid settings are: SQL.PRIVATE.TX.ON – Transaction processing is controlled directly by the DBMS on the server. SQL.PRIVATE.TX.OFF – Transaction processing is fully managed by UniBasic. SQL.TXN.ISOLATION Determines the isolation level on the server. When you use this option, the connection must already be established, the SQL.PRIVATE.TX option must be set to SQL.PRIVATE.TX.ON, and no transactions may be active.Valid settings are: SQL.TXN.READ.UNCOMMITTED – Sets the isolation level on the server to 1. SQL.TXN.READ.COMMITTED – Sets the isolation level on the server to 2. SQL.TXN.REPEATABLE.READ – Sets the isolation level on the server to 3.
