WAXING GIBBOUS.<br />

It can be seen high in the east late in the afternoon,<br />

and skies are more likely to remain clear until the wee small<br />

hours of the next morning. Any cloud or inclement weather<br />

generally appears in the early morning and could last until<br />

just after lunch.<br />

FULL MOON<br />

Through the Phases<br />

When it reaches Full <strong>Moon</strong> phase, the <strong>Moon</strong> is most<br />

prominent, rising opposite the setting Sun and illuminating<br />

the sky all night long with a pale yellow light. It is in the<br />

sky all night, so bright that you can’t see any other stars<br />

except the major constellations.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are more superstitions about this phase than<br />

any other. It is bad luck to view the Full <strong>Moon</strong> through the<br />

branches of a tree. <strong>The</strong> Full <strong>Moon</strong> has been said to cause<br />

madness, cause hair to grow on were-wolves, increase<br />

crime, eat clouds, swallow the wind and cause rain on a<br />

Saturday. Some of these would appear some hold truth: statistics<br />

have shown that violent storms are prevalent just<br />

after the Full and New <strong>Moon</strong>s.<br />
