REGISTRATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES<br />
Online registration is our preferred method and is highly recommended. You may register for programs online and will<br />
receive a receipt <strong>of</strong> your transaction sent to your email. Registrations are still first come-first served so you will be able to<br />
register early at your convenience. Go to our website www.wayland.ma.us/pages/<strong>Wayland</strong>MA_recreation/index. You may<br />
call our <strong>of</strong>fice at 508-358-3660 to register, mail in your registration form, fax it to 508-358-3665, or drop by our <strong>of</strong>fice as long<br />
as space is available, but there is a chance that you‘ll have to wait and spots may fill quickly.<br />

Our classes are supported solely by fees. If you need to cancel a program, you must do so at least 10 business days<br />
before a program begins for a refund minus the administrative fee. After that time, no refunds are given except for<br />
medical reasons with a doctor’s note. Requests for refunds must be in writing with a short explanation.<br />
Refunds may take 4-6 weeks for processing. Cancelled classes due to low enrollment will be fully refunded.<br />
An administrative fee <strong>of</strong> $10 will be retained per person per program for youth withdrawals from fall, winter,<br />
spring programs, $20 for summer programs*, and $10 for all adult programs.<br />
*NEW* - Refund and withdrawal requests for Summer Adventure, CIT, <strong>Wayland</strong> Escapes and Beach Buddies must be made in<br />
written form and dated on or before June 7. AFTER JUNE 7th, NO REFUNDS FOR THESE PROGRAMS WILL BE GRANTED.<br />
CANCELLATIONS DUE TO WEATHER<br />
Cancellations will be placed on the Weather Cancellation Hotline (508 - 358 - 7572) or website not more than 2 hours<br />
before scheduled activity. Last minute cancellations are placed on the hotline as they occur.<br />
No classes are held when school has been cancelled. If a program is cancelled, we will notify you when, and if, it will be made<br />
up. Make-ups, if possible, are at the end <strong>of</strong> a program--follow the normal schedule until you hear from us.<br />

Use your model as a learning tool in aerospace education, or just have fun building a sound airplane<br />
that actually flies when assembled. Have fun designing and building model bridges.<br />
Join us in our bridge building contest to see which one can hold the most weight. Learn simple engineering skills.<br />
Build 6 electronic projects. Some <strong>of</strong> them include a patrol car siren, burglar alarm and morse code transmitter.<br />

Children are picked up by bus from the two elementary schools and <strong>Wayland</strong> Middle School and driven to<br />
Nashoba Valley Ski Area. There is only one bus from each school so be sure to sign up early. Parent/participant<br />
Information Packet will be e-mailed in early December so be sure to include your e-mail address when registering.<br />
When registering, please be careful when choosing school! Request snowboard, downhill, or racing when registering.<br />

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION: Buses pick up children at the Middle School at 2:25pm and Elementary<br />
Schools at 3:05pm. All RETURN TO <strong>WAYLAND</strong> MIDDLE SCHOOL by 7:00pm. PLEASE BE PROMPT for pick up. There is no<br />
skiing if school is cancelled or we have deteriorating road conditions at 11:45am. Call 508-358-7572 if in doubt.<br />
For safety reasons, children misbehaving on buses will be asked to leave the program, and no refunds will be given.<br />
LESSONS: All elementary students must take a lesson from 4:15pm - 5:15pm. Lessons are optional for middle schoolers.<br />
RACING PROGRAM: available for students who have the ability to ski, stop and turn.<br />
EQUIPMENT RENTAL FITTING<br />

NASHOBA VALLEY RENTAL SHOP staff will be at the <strong>Town</strong> Building Hearing Room to fit equipment. The rental fee for<br />
skis and snowboards is $95 at the fitting. Please bring cash or check. They do not take credit cards. Helmets ($55)<br />
available for purchase...limited supply. Any child not fitted on Dec. 4, MUST BE FITTED at the ski area before the start<br />
<strong>of</strong> the program, and the yellow rental slip must be dropped <strong>of</strong>f at the Recreation <strong>of</strong>fice by Fri., Dec. 14. A child will<br />
not be able to ski the first day unless prior fitting rental arrangements have been made.<br />
CHAPERONES<br />
These programs are made possible in large part due to parent volunteers. Please consider being one <strong>of</strong> our<br />

sound and music. Using a range <strong>of</strong> dynamic experiments,<br />
we’ll break the sound barrier, make a fiery sound wave,<br />
and silence an alarm clock using nothing at all. Strange<br />
instruments will abound, including one that harnesses the<br />
power <strong>of</strong> lightning to make music.<br />

With Magic, merry mayhem, and magnificent props,<br />
the audience is taken on a trip throughout the Mesozoic era.<br />
How do we know dinosaurs were here? What is a fossil?<br />
How are they made? Dinosaurs! is a fun and informative<br />
program. Dinoman will discuss the age <strong>of</strong> the earth, how it<br />
is divided into eras, how fossils are formed, dinosaur<br />
behavior and the newest finds.<br />
