CARRIAGE OF MATERIALS<br />
1 The rate analysis <strong>of</strong> loading <strong>and</strong> unloading <strong>of</strong> various items include stacking.<br />

2 2 The rate analysis <strong>for</strong> loading <strong>and</strong> unloading has been given both by manual <strong>and</strong> mechanical<br />
means. Means <strong>of</strong> loading/unloading appropriate to the work <strong>and</strong> site is to be adopted.<br />
3 The rate analysis <strong>for</strong> haulage <strong>of</strong> materials has been made in terms <strong>of</strong> tonne-kilometre (t.km)<br />
<strong>for</strong> ease <strong>of</strong> adoption depending upon the lead in km <strong>and</strong> load in tonnes.<br />
4 The cost <strong>of</strong> carriage will vary depending upon the riding surface <strong>of</strong> the road. Provision has<br />
accordingly been made considering surfaced roads, unsurfaced gravel roads <strong>and</strong> katcha<br />
tracks.<br />
5 Analysis <strong>for</strong> carriage <strong>of</strong> materials is exclusive <strong>of</strong> the loading, unloading <strong>and</strong> stacking <strong>and</strong> this<br />
has to be added as applicable.<br />
6 Carriage <strong>of</strong> materials if done by boats shall be paid at the same rates as given <strong>for</strong> carriage <strong>of</strong><br />
materials by road.
