8. Labour<br />

8.1 The avarage market rate has been adopted which are workable in the state<br />

8.2 One mate has been provided <strong>for</strong> 25 labours<br />

9. Carriage <strong>of</strong> Materials<br />

9.1 The unit <strong>for</strong> vehicle <strong>for</strong> carriage has been taken as under :<br />

a) In hours where lead is variable. The loading <strong>and</strong> unloading <strong>for</strong> such cases have been<br />

provided sparetely.<br />

b) In tonne - km where lead is variable. The loading <strong>and</strong> unloading <strong>for</strong> such cases have been<br />

provided sparately.<br />

c) Ziro lead has been considered <strong>for</strong> the stone aggregate in order to work out the actual rates<br />

<strong>of</strong> aggregates by adding the transportation cost up to the site <strong>of</strong> work.<br />

d) In case <strong>of</strong> Hot Mix Plant Zero lead has been considered. The lead may be considered as<br />

per actual location <strong>of</strong> plant.<br />

9.2 Where the quantity <strong>of</strong> material to be tranported is small such as dismantled materials <strong>and</strong> the same<br />

are required to be loaded manually, provision <strong>of</strong> tractor-trolley has been made instead <strong>of</strong> tipper.<br />

10. General :<br />

10.1 The clause numbers refer to MoRT&H Specifications <strong>for</strong> <strong>Road</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Bridges</strong> Works.<br />

10.2 Assumptions made have been indicated in respective chapter in the <strong>for</strong>m <strong>of</strong> notes, where required.<br />

10.3 Sundries to cater <strong>for</strong> un<strong>for</strong>eseen contincency <strong>and</strong> miscelleneous items have been added in the<br />

overhead charges.<br />

10.4 Arrangement <strong>for</strong> traffic during construction shall be as per Clause 112 <strong>of</strong> MoRT&H Specifications<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>Road</strong> <strong>and</strong> Bridge Works.<br />

10.5 Contractor will make his own arrangements <strong>for</strong> borrowing earth. However, compensation <strong>for</strong> earth<br />

taken from private l<strong>and</strong> has been included in the rate <strong>for</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> embankment with borrowed<br />

earth.<br />

10.6 Credit <strong>for</strong> Dismantled Material<br />

Credit <strong>for</strong> dismantled materials has not been included in this schedule <strong>of</strong> rates. The dismantled<br />

materials should be examined <strong>and</strong> a realistic assessment made <strong>for</strong> such materials, which can be<br />

utilised <strong>for</strong> works <strong>and</strong> to be reflected in the estimate.<br />

10.7 The source <strong>of</strong> material <strong>and</strong> samples are required to be approved by the Engineer be<strong>for</strong>e start <strong>of</strong> any<br />

work.<br />

10.8 The rates <strong>of</strong> items include cost <strong>of</strong> testing <strong>of</strong> soil, materials <strong>and</strong> works.<br />

10.9 The use <strong>of</strong> surface by construction vehicles shall be governed by Clause 119 <strong>of</strong> MoRT&H<br />

Specifications.
