4. Contractor Pr<strong>of</strong>it<br />

10 percent <strong>of</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> works. Contractor pr<strong>of</strong>it is also added on overhead charges.<br />

5. Basic Inputs<br />

Basic inputs are only given in the st<strong>and</strong>ard data book. The rates <strong>for</strong> material <strong>and</strong> labour are as per<br />

6. Plants <strong>and</strong> Equipment<br />

6.1 A dozer is proposed <strong>for</strong> excavation where cutting <strong>and</strong> filling <strong>for</strong> the roadway is within 100 m. For<br />

longer leads, a combination <strong>of</strong> hydraulic excavator <strong>and</strong> tipper is proposed.<br />

6.2 Keeping in view the job <strong>and</strong> managerial factors <strong>and</strong> the age factor <strong>of</strong> machines, the output <strong>of</strong> plant<br />

<strong>and</strong> equipment is taken approximately 70 percent <strong>of</strong> the rated capacity given by manufacture under<br />

ideal conditions.<br />

6.3 It has been assumed that a water tanker would make one trip per hour on an average. Water<br />

charges have not been included <strong>for</strong> items where the requirement is very nominal. It is assumed that<br />

the same would be covered under sundries.<br />

6.4 Output <strong>of</strong> plant/equipment is considered <strong>for</strong> the compacted quantities.<br />

6.5 The usage charges <strong>for</strong> machines include ownership charges, cost <strong>of</strong> repair <strong>and</strong> maintenance<br />

including replacement <strong>of</strong> tyres <strong>and</strong> running <strong>and</strong> operating charges which includes crew, fuel <strong>and</strong><br />

lubricants.<br />

7. Materials<br />

7.1 Quantities <strong>of</strong> materials considered in the rate are approximate <strong>for</strong> the purpose <strong>of</strong> estimating <strong>and</strong><br />

include normal wastages. Actual consumption would have to be based on mix design.<br />

7.2 Arunachal Pradesh has typical <strong>and</strong> hard terrain having different altitude, wherein maximum<br />

construction material are brought from Assam <strong>and</strong> tulised in different station located in state.<br />

Hence, to maintain the uni<strong>for</strong>mity in rates, it is decided to prepare the APSR-2005 without<br />

considering any lead on materials <strong>and</strong> aggregate. The transportation cost shall be included in the<br />

estimate as per distance from the source <strong>of</strong> procurement <strong>of</strong> material/aggregate. The following<br />

sources has been adopted in the schedule 2005.<br />

(1) All steel items/Bitumen product - Guwahati<br />

(2) Cement :- B<strong>and</strong>erdewa/Bhalukpong/Likabali/Dholla/Margherita<br />

(3) Bricks :- Klin in Assam nearby to Arunachal Pradesh<br />

(4) Aggregate :- At quarry nearby site <strong>of</strong> work.<br />

(5) Other items :- Avarage market rates fixed <strong>for</strong> all district headquarter <strong>of</strong> state.<br />

(6) R.C.C. Hume Pipes :- Naharlagun/Likabali or nearby source in Assam.<br />

7.3 The alternative proposal <strong>for</strong> crushing own aggregate by installing crusher is compared with<br />

procurement <strong>of</strong> crushed aggregates from the market <strong>and</strong> proposal found economical is adopted.<br />

7.4 The specifications <strong>of</strong> materials shall be governed by section 1000 <strong>of</strong> MoRT&H Specifications <strong>for</strong><br />

<strong>Road</strong> <strong>and</strong> Bridge Works.
