Comments: Oldest known maternal ancestor is Maria Immerl. She was born in Austria (possibly
Steyr, Upper Austria) around 1860. She married Leopold Zehethofer in 1880 or therabouts in
Steyr, Austria. They had 11 children. I was surprised at how few U3s there are in the part of the
world where my ancestors came from. I had to laugh at reading that a significant proportion of
Europe's gypsies are U3 -- my grandfather used to tell my mom he was certain she had SOME
gypsy blood in her. Also, we tend to be more darkly complexioned -- not a blond in the bunch,
which makes me more likely to concur with the Middle Eastern ancestry of U3s
