TRANSLATION HIGHLIGHTS
After the destruction of the old universe as we know it, believers will be looking forward
with great expectation (Futuristic Present tense) for the New Heavens and the New Earth
(the Perfect Age) according to His promise. You didn’t think He was going to destroy
everything and then leave it that way, did you? The heavens and earth that we live in
today is contaminated by sin and judgment; the new heavens are earth will be completely
free of sin and judgment. The new heavens and new earth will be qualitatively better than
what we live in now because of the absence of sin and judgment. Not only that, but the
righteousness that the false teachers are rejecting now in favor of depravity, will be
permanently at home in the new heavens and new earth (Futuristic Present tense).
