Perithecia up to 0.3 mm in diameter, markedly angular, without<br />
orifice, black, shiny, loosely attached to the wood surface. Asci 8spored,<br />
pyriform, 16-20 X 10-12 u , Ascospores 2-celled, 9-10 X 4-5 u ,<br />
brown with coarse net (Fig.9r).<br />
The fungus willingly produces perithecia in pure culture; no<br />
conidial state has been observed.<br />
On highly decomposed driftwood at the base of the dunes and on<br />
wood stored in humid chamber. The species is not marine, but is<br />
included in this report since it is apparently a halophytic fungus.<br />

greyish white. Basidia 4-spored, sterigmata absent, Basidiospores onecelled,<br />
hyaline, with 3 apieal branches, basal section 36-56 X 4 u ,<br />
apical branches 40-44 X 3 u (Fig. 9s) .
