Of the collections recorded below only two possess long terminal
appendages r esembling the type (12.10.69 (68-140 p) and 11.2.69
(24-92 p)). All collections have short, lateral appendages. KOHLMEYER
(1963) and SCHAUMANN (1969) have reported similar collections which
differed from the type by having rather short terminal appendages.

6. Chaetosphaeria chaetosa KOHLM.
Halosphaeriaceae
Lit. : Nova Hedwigia 6: 307-309, 1963.
Perithecia about 0.25 mm in diameter, dark, with beak, immersed.
Asci 8-spored, clavate, unitunicate with apical plate, 92-100 X 12-14 p.
With paraphyses. Ascospores 4-celled, hyaline, with slime spines
around the median septum, 24-29 X 6-8 p (Fig.3f).
Rare, only one collection from wood (Palmae) at water's edge.

7. Corollospora comata (KOHLM.) KOHU"r.
Halospha eriaceae

Syn.: Peritrichospora comata KOHLM. Nova Hedwigia 2: 323, 1960.
Perithecia about 0.5 mm in diameter, subglobose, dark, only
seldomly with short beak, on the surfaee of wood or occasionally
immersed. Asci 8-spored, broadly clavate, unitunicate, 104-152 X
28-36 p . Ascospores normally with 5 septa, with brown and violet
tinges, terminal cells hyaline, 44-55 X 13-16 p, with lateral and terminal
slime spines (Fig.3g).
