The mycelium originates from a piece of driftwood approx. 0.5 cm below<br />

the surfaee of the sand. - Grønhøj 26.8.1967. X 60.<br />

67-90 X 45-60 Il, pyriform (stalk 12 Il), unitunicate, 8-spored. No<br />

paraphyses observed. Ascospores 4-celled, 36-42 X 20-24 u , terminal<br />

cells small, hyaline, central cells brown when ripe (Fig. 3b). Spores<br />

with subterminal gelatinous covering wavy, 4 Il thick.<br />

Solitary or gregarious on the surface of driftwood, or grains of<br />

sand in associat ion with wood. On driftwood collected directly from<br />

the sea and placed in a moist chamber.<br />
