Annexure I : Case Studies of Disaster Episodes
a) From state Govt.:- Received from secretary rehabilitation Mantralaya,
Mumbai.
b) From Central Govt : NIL.
* Methods used for mobilising Resources : (N.G.O.s,community response) Prior to flood
disaster first of all a committee was formed
for flood relief & measures. It comprises of
Govt.Semi Govt.,Private,social workers &
local leaders.
* Legal or procedural bottleneck
experiences in managing the situation : No other legal bottlenecks were experienced
except the people of Golegaon village
refused to shift to new colony when they
were asked to do so.
*Lessons learned by officials & community
in dealing with disaster along with specific
suggestion for improving procedure:-
a)Lessons learned : Before happening of the disaster a committee
for disaster relief measures was formed and
due to this care were taken. Hence there was
no loss to life. But how ever damage to
property would not be avoided.
b) Suggestions : While dealing with the disaster situation
and after the disaster there is as
tremendous work load on administration.
Hence the formation of New disaster
management unit is very essential.
