* Location : Partur Taluka (Golegaon & other villages)
* Date : 23rd & 24th July-1989
* Reason assigned for the events : Due to heavy rainfall, The river Godavari &
its tributaries were flooded. Hence 33
villages on the banks were affected.
* Warning system used : Yes As per the letter of Tahsildar Partur
No.1989/Misc/ WS/dt.30.6.89 Red flags on high
elevated trees were installed.
* Community response on warning : Yes. There was good response from
villagers.
* Administrative response for warning : There was good response from
Administrative authorities. People living
in flood zone shifted to safe places well in
advance.
* Assessment of administrative preparedness : Administrative preparedness was quick
& satisfactory.
