In some cases, existing water supply may be contaminated and therefore water tankers
may have to be pressed into service.
Identification of nearby water sources and checking the potability of the same may
also be required.
Rescue and relief teams must be alert to the possibility of spread of epidemics and
therefore ensure standards of services with respect to storage, cooking, and handling of
food materials as also disposal of waste in relief camps, medical centres and feeding
centres.
Water-quality monitoring mechanisms will have to be set-up to prevent spread of
epidemics.
In case of vector-borne diseases, the exact vector and related control methods will have
to be followed. The required materials are listed on (pg. No)
