Section IV: Capability Analysis
At present, traffic accidents are dealt with by the nearest police station. The traffic branch of
S.P. Office, Jalna monitors and takes all necessary actions regarding Road Accidents.
The S.P. Office maintains the monthly diary of various road accidents in the district. The
office monitors the various parameters of particular accidents and concludes the reasons of
the accidents. The office classifies various accidents on the basis of nature of the accidents
viz. Fatal Accidents, Normal Accidents etc.
With the help of above procedure, the traffic branch of S.P. Office, Jalna tries to minimize the
accidents but in the last 30 years, the road accidents are increasing day by day.
According to Railway dept. there is only 8 stations in Jalna district. Railway dept. has its own
check points to tackle the Railway accidents. Railway dept. uses protection indicators,
signals, wireless sets, control phones etc. for controlling the railway accidents.
There are PHCs and Rural Hospitals on the state highways. The health department has their
own trauma care center for treating accident victims.
In Jalna, the Mission Hospital and other private hospitals are working for treating accident
victims.
Separate SOP for Road accidents is under process of preparation and major steps in future
will be taken for creating awareness among the people in this regard.
