With regard to Pccm<strong>and</strong>er, all that we know is that<br />

he was <strong>the</strong> founder <strong>of</strong> Tanagra <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> spouse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

nyraph <strong>of</strong> that name, who was a daughter <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> river<br />

Asopus (Paus. ix. 20).<br />

Imperial coins <strong>of</strong> Tanagra bearing <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

emperor are known <strong>of</strong> Augustus, Tiberius, Drusus, Ger-<br />

manicus, Trajan, Antoninus Pius, M. Aurelius, <strong>and</strong><br />

Commodus. <strong>The</strong> most interesting types have been<br />

already fully explained by Dr. Imho<strong>of</strong>-Blumer in <strong>the</strong><br />

Num. Zeitschrifty ix.<br />
