Deposits and final payment: A deposit of $500.00 per person should accompany the registration form, along with your optional insurance
payment and copies of your passport picture page by December 19, 2012. Final payment is due March 22, 2013. An optional payment plan is
available whereby monthly installments can be arranged.

Airline seating and special requests: We do not reserve specific seats with the airline. You may change your seat at the airport prior to departure.

Single supplement: A few single rooms are available for an additional $695.00 per person and cannot exceed 10% of the group.
Baggage: Each participant is allowed to check (1) suitcase weighing no more than 50 lbs., and one small carry-on bag on the plane. Baggage fees are not
included. Please check the specific airline baggage fees on their website.
Tour Cancellation Policy: Up to 90 days prior to departure a reservation fee of $250 is withheld. Within 90 days of departure all payments are nonrefundable
regardless of reason for cancellations. All cancellations must be in writing. Unused portions of the trip are not refundable. We strongly urge
you to purchase Trip Cancellation/Travel Insurance at an additional $162 per person for Lite Plan, $245 per person for Basic Coverage, or the $ 367 per

All prices are based on cash payments. Fuel surcharge and taxes are subject to change at time of final invoicing. Prices are based on a
minimum of 40 full paying travelers per bus.

Wednesday -June 26- Day 1:DEPART USA-
Depart Pittsburgh or Philadelphia airports (add-ons airfares are available from other
cities) on an overnight flight to Tel Aviv. Meals will be served on board. nsfer to

Thursday -June 27- Day2: MT. CARMEL- NAZARETH-
Upon arrival, we are greeted by our English-speaking Christian tour guide and
assisted with customs and passport control. On the drive to Mt. Carmel we pass
through the beautiful scenery along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Mass is
celebrated at the Stella Maris Monastery. Take in the breathtaking view of the
northern kingdom of Israel and Phoenicia from the monastery. See Haifa in the
distance and gather for our first group picture before we depart for the beautiful
Golden Crown hotel that has a magnificent view of Nazareth. Buffet dinner is at

Peter and St. Paul
Friday June 28-Day 3 : FEAST OF ST.PETER AND ST.PAUL-
Following buffet breakfast at our hotel we depart for Cana, site of Jesus’s first
miracle, where couples may wish to renew their wedding vows. Be sure to bring
your wedding ring and dress up for this special occasion. Our next stop is Mt.
Tabor and the Church of Transfiguration where we celebrate Mass and then on
to Caesarea Maritima, the ancient harbour from which St. Paul set sail towards
Rome and the Missionary Journeys which spread Christianity to Europa and
eventually the whole world. It was here that Peter came to understand that the Good
News was not only for the Jews, but for everyone. We are so blessed to be in this
ancient place as today we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Peter and St. Paul. Here Dr.
Bergsma will give a talk. Overnight Nazareth with dinner at the hotel. (B.L.D.) try

Saturday -June 29-Day 4: MINISTRY IN THE GALILEE-
Depart for the Sea of Galilee area where we enjoy a morning boat ride and visit the
“Jesus Boat”, a boat from the time of Jesus. Continue the day with a visit to the
beautiful Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus taught his followers. Mass is
celebrated on this serene hill overlooking the peaceful waters of the Sea of Galilee.
Enjoy a lunch of St. Peter’s Fish before departing for Capernaum, home to Peter and
one of the first towns where the gospel was preached. Next we visit the Church of
the Primacy of Peter, situated on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Continue to the
Church of Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes and finish the day with a drive to
Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus told Peter “You are the Rock, and upon this rock I
will build my church”. Return to our hotel in Nazareth for dinner. (B. L. D.)Y-
Sunday -June 30- Day 4: NAZARETH- JERICHO- THE DEAD SEA-
Our day begins in Nazareth with Mass in the grand Church of the Annunciation.
Visit the archaeological site, next door to see the remains of Nazareth from the time
of Jesus. Also, see Mary’s Well and St. Joseph’s Church. Continue to Jericho –
the first city to be captured by Joshua as part of his conquest of the Land, site of the
Mount of Temptation. Later, drive to the Dead Sea and take a dip in the mineral
rich water before driving to Jerusalem. Stop for a Genesis Welcome before
ascending to Jerusalem, where we settle into our rooms at the beautiful and newly
renovated Vatican owned hotel, the Notre Dame. (B.L.D)s July 02 - Day 6:

Monday- July 1- Day 5: TEMPLE MOUNT- WAILING WALL-
Our first stop is the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock, holy sites for
Muslims. Next we tuck a prayer into the Wailing Wall, the holiest site for the
Jewish people. Mass will be celebrated. At St. Anne’s Church, next to which is
the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the Paralytic. Following lunch we see
the City of David, Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the Pool of Siloam. (B.L.D.)ednesday
- July 03 – Day7: - FOLLOWING THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS TRAIL
Tuesday- July 2- Day 5 : JESUS and THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS-
-including talks by Dr. John Bergsma & Kando family members
The day starts with a visit to Qumran Caves to see the place of the Dead Sea
Scrolls discovery. Dr. Bergsma will give a talk about the history of the Dead Sea
Scrolls. Next stop is the Herodion, the monument Herod the Great built and the
place of his burial, one of the most fascinating sites in the Holy Land. A short drive
takes us to Shepherd’s Field and the Grotto. Lunch is at the Christmas Tree
restaurant. Next stop is the Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity – the
birth place of Christ, to see the Grotto of the Nativity. Next door is St. Catherine’s
church where we join in the joyous Christmas Mass. Continue to a Christian
cooperative store, owned by the Kando family that helps support dozens of families.
This is also the family of Khalil Iskandar Kando, who brought the Dead Sea
Scrolls to the attention of the world. Here we see one of the original jars in which
the scrolls were kept for thousands of years. Next, visit the Israeli Museum to see
the Dead Sea Scrolls and the model city of Jerusalem at the time of King David. In
the evening, following our dinner, we meet members of the Kando family who share
with us stories of their famous grandfather and tell us about the life of Christians in
the Holy Land. (B.L.D.) hursday- July 04- Day 8 : Mt. of Olives- St. Peter in
Galicantu- Mt. Zion
Wednesday- July 3-Day 6: MT. OF OLIVES- MT. ZION-
The day begins with a visit to the Ascension Chapel and the Church of Pater
Noster, where Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer. Marvel at the panoramic view from
the Mt. of Olives–seeing the eternal golden city and gather for a group photo. We
walk along Palm Sunday Road stopping at Dominus Flevit where Jesus wept over
the city. Continue along the Jewish cemetery with a view over the Eastern Gate.
Walk in the Garden of Gesthemene and the Church of All Nations. After lunch,
at Ramat Rachel, visit the ruins of Caiphas’ Palace under the Church of St. Peter
in Gallicantu. Continue to the Upper Room, and the Dormition Abbey where
Mass will be celebrated, The day ends with the fun and festive farewell dinner at
the Tent Restaurant in Bethlehem. (B. L. D.)Frid 9: Via Dolorosa- Ein Karem-
Emmaus- Airport
Thurdsay- July 4- Day 5: VIA DOLOROSA- EIN KAREM-EMMAUS-
Start the day early by praying the Stations of the Cross as we carry the cross along
the Via Dolorosa, ending with the glorius Mass in the Church of the Holy
Sepulchre. We return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Enjoy time at leisure
and lunch on your own, perhaps in the Old City. Following lunch we depart for Ein
Karem to see the Church of Visitation and Mary’s Spring marking the birthplace
of St. John the Baptist. Time permitting, we stop at Emmaus Abu Gosh, where
Jesus appeared to the two Disciples after the Resurrection. We visit the lovely
Crusader Church and meditate in the beautiful gardens tended by the nuns.
Transfer to the airport for our midnight flight home.

Dr. John Bergsma is Associate Professor
of Theology at the Franciscan University
of Steubenville. He served as a Protestant
pastor for four years before entering the
Catholic Church in 2001 while pursuing a
Ph.D. in Theology from the University of
Notre Dame, specializing in the Old
Testament and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Dr.
Bergsma speaks regularly at conferences
and parishes nationwide, and has appeared
on EWTN’s The Journey Home, Life on
the Rock, Franciscan University Presents,
and Relevant Radio’s Drew Mariani Show.
He and his wife Dawn reside with their
seven children in Steubenville, Ohio.

Father Dennis Gang, TOR, hails from
Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from what
is now Franciscan University of
Steubenville, with a BA in political
science. He then joined the Franciscan
Third Order Regular, was professed in
1973, and ordained to the priesthood in
1976. He earned his M.Div. from
St. Francis Seminary and an MA in
Theology from Franciscan University in
1986. Father Dennis served as a campus
minister at Franciscan University and
the Community of God’s Delight in Dallas,
Texas and spent many years in
parish ministry in Fort Worth, Fairfax,
Virginia, and Tampa. He served as the
chaplain for the Franciscan University
study abroad program in Austria and now
works in Student Life at the Franciscan
University as a campus minister and as the
alumni chaplain.
