Manual source-<strong>changeover</strong> system<br />
This is the most simple type. It is controlled manually by an operator and<br />
consequently the time required to switch from the normal to the replacement<br />
source can vary.<br />
A manual source-<strong>changeover</strong> system is made up of two or three mechanically<br />
interlocked manually-operated <strong>circuit</strong> <strong>breakers</strong> or switch-disconnectors.<br />
Remote-operated source-<strong>changeover</strong> system<br />
This is the most commonly employed system <strong>for</strong> devices with high ratings (above<br />
400 A).No human intervention is required. Transfer from the normal to the<br />
replacement source is controlled electrically.<br />
A remote-controlled source-<strong>changeover</strong> system is made up of two or three <strong>circuit</strong><br />
<strong>breakers</strong> or switch-disconnectors linked by an electrical interlocking system that<br />
may have different configurations. In addition, a mechanical interlocking system<br />
protects against electrical malfunctions or incorrect manual operations.<br />
Automatic source-<strong>changeover</strong> <strong>systems</strong><br />
An automatic controller may be added to a remote-operated source-<strong>changeover</strong><br />
system <strong>for</strong> automatic source control according to programmable operating modes.<br />
This solution ensures optimum energy management:<br />

b management of power sources<br />
b regulation<br />
b emergency source replacement, etc.<br />
The automatic controller may be fitted with an option <strong>for</strong> communication with a<br />
