The <strong>of</strong>fice is open to the public for ordinary business on Week Days from<br />

6-45 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 1 iJ.m.<br />

to 2 p.m.<br />

<strong>Post</strong>age Stamps, &c., can be had and letters, &c., registered from 9 p.m.<br />

to 6-45 a.m., and all day on Sunday, 1st door Shiprow.<br />

<strong>Post</strong>age on Inland Letters, &c., and Parcels may be prepaid at the Head<br />

<strong>Office</strong> in money instead <strong>of</strong> stamps provided the amount isaid be in no case less<br />

than £5.<br />

The Money Order <strong>Office</strong> is open on Week Days only, from 9 a.m. to 6<br />

p.m., and in this <strong>of</strong>fice Money Order, <strong>Post</strong>al Order, Savings Bank, Government<br />

Stock, and Government Insurance and Annuity Business is transacted ;<br />

and Dog, Gun, and Brewer's Licences, Patent, Bankruptcy, and Civil Service<br />

Stamps are issued. <strong>Post</strong>al Order Business is transacted and Savings Bank<br />

deposits accepted at the Stamp Counter from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.<br />

The Telegraph <strong>Office</strong> is open always. On Week Days Messages are<br />

taken in at the Public Counter from 6-45 a.m. to 9 p.m., and during the Night<br />

and on Sundays at the Delivery <strong>Office</strong> and Instn;ment Room, 1st and 2nd<br />

doors, Shipi-ow.<br />

Holidays.—'New Year's Day, first Monday in May, and fourth Monday in<br />

September. On these days the <strong>Office</strong> will be open throughout the day for Telegraph<br />

Business, Delivery <strong>of</strong> <strong>Post</strong>e Hestante Letters, Registration <strong>of</strong> Letters,<br />

and Sale <strong>of</strong> Stamps, but not for Money Order, Savings Bank, Insurance or<br />

Annuity, <strong>Post</strong>al Order, or Parcel <strong>Post</strong> Business.<br />

Rates <strong>of</strong> <strong>Post</strong>age and Conditions <strong>of</strong> Transmission.<br />

A letter posted unpaid is chargeable on delivery with double postage ; if<br />

insufficiently paid, with double the deficiency.<br />

No letter may exceed 18 inches in length, 9 in width, or 6 in depth, unless<br />

it be sent to or from a Government <strong>of</strong>fice.<br />

RE-DlRECnON—{Inland).<br />

No charge is made for the re-direction <strong>of</strong> letters (including registered letters)<br />

whether re-directed by an <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Office</strong> or by an agent <strong>of</strong> the<br />

addressee after delivery, provided in the latter case that the letters are reposted<br />

not later than the day (Sundays and public holidays not being counted)<br />

after delivery, and that they do not appear to have been opened.<br />

He-directed letters which are re-posted later than the day after delivery v/ill<br />

be liable to charge at the prepaid rate ; any which appear to have been opened<br />

will be charged as freshly posted unpaid letters.
