The Council <strong>of</strong> the Duchy <strong>of</strong> Cornwall,<br />

The Secretary <strong>of</strong> State in Council for India,<br />

The Court <strong>of</strong> Chancery, the Local Government Board,<br />

The Corporation <strong>of</strong> the City <strong>of</strong> London,<br />

The Principal Bankers, Railway Companies, Public Companies, and<br />

Commercial Firms, in the United Kingdom.<br />

The Society by Special Act <strong>of</strong> Parliament, is expressly authorised to give<br />

security for persons appointed to any <strong>of</strong>fice or employment, or Commission,<br />

Civil or Military, in any Public Department, or to any <strong>of</strong>lfice or employment<br />

<strong>of</strong> Public Trust under the Crown.<br />

I)ERSONS <strong>of</strong> the highest character and qualifications frequently decline<br />

valuable appointments, either from an unwillingness to place themselves<br />

and their friends under so serious an obligation, or the great diflSculty<br />

<strong>of</strong> obtaining satisfactory Sureties; but the Institution <strong>of</strong> this Society<br />

The GUARANTEE SOCIETY undertakes, for a small yearly premium, to<br />

make good to the employer any loss by the fraud or dishonesty <strong>of</strong> the<br />

f>erson employed, according to the amoimt specified in the bond, and thereore<br />

obviates the necessity for Private Sureties, as well as the evils arising<br />

therefrom, which <strong>of</strong>ten prove as prejudicial to the real interests <strong>of</strong> the employer<br />

as to the person finding the guarantee <strong>of</strong> Private Friends.<br />

Employers, by the existence <strong>of</strong> the Society, are assured <strong>of</strong> the continued<br />

solvency <strong>of</strong> the Surety for the person employed, and the security thus becomes<br />

a permanent one.<br />

Friends and Relatives are relieved <strong>of</strong> the fear <strong>of</strong> those pecuniary losses to<br />

v> Iiich persons are exposed who become responsible for the acts <strong>of</strong> others.<br />

All necessary information can be had <strong>of</strong> the Secretary and Agents.<br />

Security granted on behalf <strong>of</strong> Receivers and Official Liquidators, under<br />

the Court <strong>of</strong> Chancery, and Trustees in Bankruptcy, on advantageous terms.<br />
