January 18, 2013 500 ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS 501 Information Exchange and Electronic Submissions 501.1 General All CADD data submitted or exchanged with ODOT shall conform to the requirements of this manual. Organizations exchanging CADD data with ODOT are responsible for ensuring they are using the current version of these requirements and all ODOT MicroStation/GEOPAK files. 502 File Format 502.1 General All CADD information to be submitted or exchanged with the Department shall be developed per the current MicroStation and GEOPAK version listed on the CADD Engineering Standards Web page, unless otherwise specified in the Scope of Services. This requirement ensures that ODOT receives a product that is immediately usable on ODOT’s CADD system. The content of all final submission MicroStation design files delivered to the Department shall match the content of the printed Mylar sheets and/or Tiff Images. Editing the Mylar’s and/or Tiff Images without updating the CADD files shall not be permitted. All projects are required to submit the following files regardless of the PDP (Old or New) the project is scoped to follow: • Existing Plans (Roadway and Bridge) • Designer Office Calculations (such as Pavement, Earthwork, and Structure Quantities) If the scope of services requires supplemental engineering data files (ie. Hec-Ras, etc.), the Department requires that all supplemental engineering data files be delivered in the native format of the system used to produce it. Reference the respective Technical Manual (i.e. Bridge Design Manual, etc.) for software requirements. Any questions regarding items not included in this manual, or interpretations of this manual should be addressed to the CADD Section in the Central Office, Office of CADD and Mapping Services. Consultants, contractors, and suppliers should direct questions regarding interpretations of this manual to the CADD Section through the ODOT Project Manager/ Job Manager/ Consultant Manager, as applicable. 92 ODOT CADD Engineering Standards
502.2 Saved View January 18, 2013 Whenever files are submitted or exchanged with the Department, the MicroStation command Saved View shall be initiated to capture all reference file and level settings in place at the time of final plotting. Saving a view allows you to quickly recall a view with specific attributes. From the MicroStation Utilities menu, select Saved Views to access the dialog shown below. • Select the Create Saved View command, • Select the Method: From View or From 2- Points, • Name: the view Final Print, • Select the Source View by placing a Data point in the view window.
