Ham's F12 Medium was originally developed for single-cell plating of near diploid CHO
cells. It is a rich modification of F-10 medium designed for the cloning and serial
propagation of CHD-3 and CHL-1 cell lines in the absence of serum. It also offers
enhanced performance for cells growing at low density. F-12 features increased levels of
choline, I-inositol, putrescine and several amino acids. It is excellent for cultivating
carcinoma cells, rat skeletal myoblasts, lungs cells and rat, rabbit or chicken embryos.
