Community Time Bank
There's no better time to be an active
member of the Time Bank!
This year we are holding a fantastic
Spring Ball on Saturday 26th March at
the St Edward's Hall in Stow-on-the-
Wold, with live music, food, a bar
and, we hope, a minibus service to
bring people and return them home
(for a small charge). Ticket prices are
not yet fixed - but there will be a
discount for Fair Shares participants.
In April/May the Roadshow will
feature participants and Time Brokers
visiting towns and villages in the
North Cotswolds to showcase the
range of help and skills available on
the Time Bank. So, when those little
odd jobs or needs crop up, if you
need a lift, or some company, or want
to learn a new skill, get in touch and
we will do our best to help!

PRESS CLIPPINGS FROM THE CHIPPING NORTON ROTARY CLUB

YOUTH SPEAKS
The local heat was held in November at Chipping Norton School,
with 4 intermediate and 5 senior teams competing - Bloxham
School, Chipping Norton School and The Warriner School.
Junior Winners were Warriner C (Lewis Wallington, Thomas
Dence and Kristian Tyler) talking about 'Time - Stuck in a Cycle'.
Senior Winners were Warriner Senior Team (Ollie Tindale, Grace
Phethean and Jossie Evans) talking about 'Text Speak'.
Rotary Club President Bill McDougall presented the prizes; the
judges were Lesley Cook, Chief Executive of the English Speaking
Board, Michael Drew & Jo Graves.
TROLLEY CHALLENGES A SUCCESS - DESPITE THE WEATHER
The Two Trolley Challenges in December worked well despite the
weather, and out deepest thanks to the managers and staff at
both Sainsburys and the Co-Op for their help and support. We
raised a total of £230 at Sainsburys on the 3/4 December and
£227 at the Co-Op, despite the snow. The money we raised with
your help will be going to Children In Need, Support Our Soldiers
and Rotary Charities. Thank you all for your generosity.

RACE NIGHT – FRI 25th FEBRUARY
The traditional Rotary Race Night will be on Friday 25th February
at the New Beaconsfield Hall in Shipton-Under-Wychwood.
Nearly all the money raised will be split between Katharine House
Hospice and ShelterBox, with 10% to the Rotary Foundation.
Come along and have a flutter and a great night! Entrance is £10
which also buys you a meal (but not your bets!) To book, contact

THANKS FOR LIFE
& Thanks For Life Week on 21-28 Feb
As February gets going, keep your eye on the grass near the
Chippy Police Station – this is where the pink crocuses should be
coming up soon to spell out "THANKS FOR LIFE". There will also
be a display in the town on topside about Thanks For Life and
Polio Eradication during Thanks For Life Week on 21-28 Feb We
hope to receive donations from you which will go to supporting
Polio Eradication - we are so nearly there! Rotary is also 103
years old that week, so “Happy Birthday Rotary”!!
