The Seven Wonders of the Cotswolds<br />

It’s time to VOTE<br />

Following our quest to find the Seven Wonders of the Cotswolds<br />

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an overwhelming number<br />

and variety of nominations have been received. So we are<br />

putting it to the public vote to find the final seven!<br />

All eligible nominations (places and features within the<br />

Cotswolds AONB) which we received are listed-<br />

• Online at www.cotswoldaonb.org.uk<br />

• Pick up a list at the Cotswold Conservation Board office at<br />

Northleach<br />

• Call the office (01451 862003 for a copy by post)<br />

As you would expect, the list includes many places and events in<br />

our area including some local favourites.<br />

You can vote for your favourite seven from the list by:<br />

LOCAL WALKS WITH<br />

THE COTSWOLDS VOLUNTARY<br />

WARDENS – APRIL<br />

Over the Top and Round the Side – Saturday 14 <strong>April</strong> –<br />

Moderate. A contrasting walk over the top of Bredon Hill to<br />

Elmley Castle - ancient forts and orchards. Pub lunch available.<br />

5.5 hours; 8 miles. Start: 10 am Beckford, outside entrance to<br />

church. OS Map ref 976 358<br />

To Stow and Beyond – Sunday 15 <strong>April</strong> – Strenuous<br />

Using the Oxfordshire Way and other paths leading out of the<br />

Evenlode Valley to Stow. Please bring a packed lunch. 6 hours;<br />

12.5 miles. Start: 10 am Bledington Green. OS Map ref 244 228<br />

Bluebells in Foxholes – Friday 27 <strong>April</strong> -– Easy<br />

From Shipton-under-Wychwood passing through Bruern woods<br />

reaching the beautiful Foxholes Nature Reserve where Bluebells<br />

should be in flower. Return by woodland and field paths. Please<br />

bring a packed lunch. 4 hours; 7 miles.<br />

Brewers and Traitors – Saturday 28 <strong>April</strong> – Moderate<br />

From Hook <strong>Norton</strong> to the Sibfords via Traitors Ford and Ditchedge<br />

Lane (Macmillan Way). Return via Swalcliffe Common and D’Arcy<br />

Dalton way. Stunning views over Brailes and beyond; a lovely<br />

woodland trail. Please bring a packed lunch. 5 hours; 10 miles<br />

Start: 100 am Hook <strong>Norton</strong> Primary School, Sibford Road. OS<br />

PLEASE use appropriate footwear as some walks may be steep<br />

and muddy in places. MODERATE - includes some hills and rough<br />

ground. Sorry, no dogs allowed except guide and hearing dogs.<br />

Walks are free although donations help to fund our conservation<br />

work and improvement projects.<br />

The Wardens run a full programme of guided walks throughout<br />
