Short-term, behavioral interventions focused on his reasons for entering treatment will be important initially (Scale 2 (D)). If he becomes engaged in the treatment process, cognitive-behavioral therapy focusing on his depressive cognitions (Scale 2 (D), DEP) will be beneficial.
