SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO ON BOARD AND ASHORE
Athena’s on-board facilities are excellent, including a swimming pool, a choice of bars and
lounges, a library, internet access, a luxury cinema and a shop. The restaurant offers you
sumptuous cuisine throughout your cruise, and informal more relaxed dining is offered in
the Lotus Grill. If you feel in need of pampering, why not treat yourself to a massage or sauna
in the beauty salon?
EXPLORE FASCINATING PORTS OF CALL
A great selection of optional shore excursions are available
on every cruise, enabling you to enjoy your holiday to the
fullest. By taking advantage of the shore excursions, you
can leave all the details of planning your route, arranging
transport and finding your way around to the experts, which
means you’re free to simply enjoy your visit.
Excursions can take you ‘off the beaten track’, away
from the more obvious tourist attractions to places that
many people never get a chance to see. Wherever your
excursion takes you, you’ll always be accompanied by an
experienced and knowledgeable guide and often a member
of the on-board team.
Paris
DON'T MISS OUT
Our shore excursions are always incredibly popular,
therefore we will send you a shore excursion booklet before
your cruise sails. This gives you the opportunity to have a
look at the excursions on offer before your holiday.
As many excursions can be booked up very quickly, we
always recommend that you make your selection and
pre-book your tours as soon as possible.
DAY 2 AMSTERDAM
The unique city of Amsterdam is built on a series of canals
criss-crossed at regular intervals by a fine collection of
bridges. It’s a city that’s packed with countless places of
interest in a relatively small area. Everywhere you look
there are bikes, it’s easy to see why it is the most popular
mode of transport! Amsterdam is home to a fine selection
of museums, from the evocative Anne Frank House to the

can even take a cruise along some of the many canals for an
alternative perspective.
DAY 3 ZEEBRUGGE (for Bruges or Ghent)
The Belgian port of Zeebrugge is part of Bruges, the Flemish
capital. Join us to discover this charming city with its
beautiful architecture and peaceful canals. The delightful old
centre has an abundance of attractions from the traditional
gabled houses and majestic churches to narrow cobbled
streets. Take the time to sample the famous Belgian beer or
try a few of the luxurious chocolates. Alternatively, you could
visit Ghent, one of Belgium’s oldest cities, with its elegant
mediaeval architecture, network of canals and cobbled
streets. Why not take a boat trip through the canals for a
different view of the city?
DAY 4 HONFLEUR (for Monet’s Garden or Paris)
This charming fishing port, a favourite haunt of the great
impressionist painters, dates back to the 14th century. Step
Saint Catherine Church, a rare example in Western Europe
of a building made entirely of wood. Honfleur is also the
ideal place from where to visit the exciting city of Paris.
With its seductive architecture, superb shopping, delicious
gastronomic delights and vibrant night life, Paris is a city
which really does have it all. This enchanting city is famous
for its romantic ambience and you can soak it all up as you
sit in one of the pavement cafes and people watch, just like
the locals. Make sure you also take in the famous sights of

the Eiffel Tower. Alternatively,
you could pay a visit to the
beautiful gardens at Giverny.
It is said that the history
of France is written in
her gardens and that is
certainly true of Monet’s
Garden at Giverny.
From 1883 to 1926,
Monet planted and
painted here and the
garden is most famous
for its lily pond, the
inspiration for some of
his best known works
such as his famous
Waterlilies. Don’t miss
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 states:

discriminate against a disabled person by refusing to provide
any service which it provides to members of the public.”
(It is our interpretation that) this law applies to services provided

believe in trying to make our holidays as accessible to as many
people as possible. If you tell us before you book of any special
needs or medical conditions you have, we will do all we can
to accommodate you. This includes making any reasonable
adjustments to the holiday itself. If you or any member of your
party’s situation changes after you have booked you must let us
know straight away.
Examples of reasonable adjustments we might make include
(but are not limited to):

mobility difficulties

difficulties where a coach cannot reach a hotel.
Whilst we will endeavour to make any reasonable adjustments
to the holiday
itself, sometimes this may not be possible. Examples where we
might not be able to make a reasonable adjustment include:

remote locations

duration of the holiday
It is your responsibility to tell us before you book whether you
have any special needs or medical conditions, that might affect
your ability to take part on our holidays. A reasonable level
of fitness is required for our holidays as some walking can be
involved. If you are in any doubt about the suitability of any
of our holidays please just ask. Where we can we will make
any reasonable adjustments – where we cannot make such
adjustments we may have to refuse your booking.
It is our intention to try and make our holidays as accessible
to as many people as we can, especially those with disabilities.
We cannot do this if you don’t tell us of your needs so please
mention any relevant information to us before you book. We
will assume, unless you tell us otherwise, that all members
of the party are in a good state of health to participate in the
holiday. If you do not tell us about any special needs or medical
conditions, and we find ourselves in the position where you are

and unable to participate fully, then we reserve the right to:

this to you
doing this to you
We very much hope that all our customers will be completely
open, honest and upfront with us so the above situation
does not occur. However, we do reserve the right to take action
in the interests of your health and safety and the health and
safety of our staff and other customers should we need to.
Holiday and accommodation information
as possible about your holiday, especially regarding
accommodation and excursions. All the information has been
carefully checked and is correct at the time of going to press.
– space! Ships have space limitations so therefore tend to utilise
every inch efficiently.
All cabins are air-conditioned. The main difference between
upper/lower berth combinations.
withdrawn due to lack of demand, weather conditions, essential
maintenance work or other circumstances outside our control.
from time to time, special interest groups may be on board; on
cruises featuring guest celebrities, circumstances beyond our
control may make it necessary to substitute a different celebrity;
lectures and talks to go ahead.
