CAVING Passing an intermediate anchor during descent 30 Contents © Serge Caillault The many rope manipulations involved in caving can take precious time. Good organization allows efficient passage of intermediate anchors, leaving more time for the activity itself. 1. Tether yourself into the anchor when you arrive at its level. If both hands are required for tethering, tie off the rope on the STOP in order to free the hand from the braking end of the rope. Example of a tie-off for short stops 2. Descend to transfer your weight onto the lanyard. Remove the STOP and put it back on the rope under the knot. Information is non-exhaustive. Refer to the other pages as well as to the user instructions and technical manuals. Technical training is essential.
