Logging in for the first time.
When you log in for the first time you will not be asked for a log on password, However you are able to set a password in
the program but your username will remain “grower”.
Introduction
The purpose of the Grow Assistant is to help maintain large unruly grow OPs. from 1 to over 1000 plants. it will help
track your plants through their generations always keeping track of who the mothers are and where their genes are. It
will allow you to attach Pictures, Notes, Height and girth, and Tasting information to every single plant in your operation.
Initial Setup
Plant IDs
The Grow Assistant is designed to work with several different type growing scenarios. It is designed to handle plants
using “Plant IDs” One way to use Plant IDs is to just to use plastic stick type labels from 1-100 (These are your IDs) then
you just stick this in the planter, use the ID throughout the plants life and once you harvest pull the ID stick and throw it
back in the pool of IDs. You of course do not have to use numbers and can instead use names or whatever you like.
Each plant is tracked via a serial number given to it by the program. This number is not usually seen by you and there is
no reason to worry about it. It’s just used to tie together the plant’s information and it’s notes, pictures etc. The Plant ID
is the way that you can link the plant in the program to the actual plant in the grow room.
Strains
Strains are a very important part of growing. The Grow Assistant’s Strain Bank Is used to hold this information. It is a
good idea to start by putting in the strains you have early on. When you clone any mother, her strain information “along
with other information” will be copied to the daughters.
Getting Started
For the purpose of this manual we will assume the following.
You have two Mother plants.
When you clone you use a cloner that has it’s own numbers. (like a square container with 20 holes in it, labeled 1-20)
This of course can be a multitude of different setups.
Designating your Mothers
1. Click the New Plant button on the main screen
2. Specify the Plant ID, Generation, and Plants Mother
• Plant ID - What ever ID you have given the plant
• Generation - Since this is a mother plant the generation will be 1 or Mother
• Plants Mother - Normally you will not enter this value because you will use the cloning function to plant your
clones which enters this in for you. If this plant is a mother then this value will be entered by the program and will
duplicate this plants “Plant ID”
3. Answer Yes to the “Is this a mother” dialog box
Now you will see that you have created a new plant.
4

The Grow Assistant -- Medical Marijuana Grow Operation Software Ver 4.X
Adding Clones to a Plant
1. With the mother plant you want to clone FROM selected click (Make Clone) button
2. Enter the clone number/designation, notes about the clone, and the number of clones to make into the resulting
dialog box. (keep in mind that the clone number referenced here is the number that you want to temporarily
assign the clone ‘usually the position inside your cloner’ Once you plant this clone the program will ask
what permanent Plant ID you want to assign to the plant.) You can also select a cloning date that is not the
current date. This is good in cases where you cloned a day or two ago and forgot to insert the data into the program.
3. After you have added the clone you can click on the clones tab to see the clones you’ve added (I added 24 for this
example)
The Grow Assistant -- Medical Marijuana Grow Operation Software Ver 4.X
Time to do some plant some clones!
Once you have taken your clones and they are ready for planting you first need to find the clone.
To find a Clone
1. Click the (View Clones) button. (This will open a new window showing all active clones.)
Planting a Clone
3. Click the (Plant) button beside the clone that you want to plane (Move from cloner to the Vegging Room.)
4. Enter the New Plant ID that you want to give this plant in the resulting Dialog Box
Now that you have planted your clone you can look at it by clicking the (Active) button and entering the new Plant ID you
just entered.
6

The Grow Assistant -- Medical Marijuana Grow Operation Software Ver 4.X
You can also see that on the Mothers clone list that the clone you just planed shows to be pulled
This is important as any clones that don’t show to be pulled will show up in the (At a Glance Clones) windows. When
you plant a clone it will enter the date that you “pulled” it from the cloner.
Therefore if you have a clone that doesn’t survive you MUST press the KILL button in the (At a Glance Clones) window to
stop it from showing up.
your documents folder in a folder called “Grow-Assistant-Backup-Data”. It puts these files here because we don’t want
them to get overwritten durning an upgrade.
