Comments: According to CANOD (2009), Neanthes arenaceodentata is part of the “problematic” Neanthes acuminata<br />

complex. The N. acuminata form reported from California is different than the Atlantic species, and is classified as<br />

cryptogenic in the NEP (CANOD, 2009). Even with this taxonomic uncertainty, the Hawaiian form is considered<br />

introduced (Carlton and Eldredge, 2009).<br />
