Comments: A genetic analysis by Yang et al. (2008) showed that Ceramium kondoi was introduced from Asia to the
NEP, perhaps with Japanese oysters. This study indicated the presence of a “southern lineage” from Korea, southern
Japan, far-eastern Russia and the USA, and a “northern lineage” from northern Japan and far-eastern Russia.
