Comments: Perkinsus marinus ("Dermo") is an endoparasite of the Atlantic oyster, Crassostrea virginica. It is native to<br />

the Gulf of Mexico and the southern Northwest Atlantic. Expansion in the 1990s into Delaware Bay and up to Maine,<br />

<strong>US</strong>A is thought to be due to a combination of repeated introductions and an increase in water temperature.<br />
