Comments: The mullet, Valamugil engeli, was accidently introduced into Hawaii with the Marquesan sardine<br />

(Sardinella marquesensis) (Eldredge, 1994). It inhabits “shallow protected sandy to muddy areas of reef flats and<br />

shallow lagoons while juveniles have been encountered in tide pools” (FishBase), while in Hawaii it is largely estuarine.<br />
