Comments: Recently all four species of Macrocystis were "collapsed' into a single species, M. pyrifera (Demes et al.,<br />

2009). M. integrifolia [M. pyrifera] has been transported from its native range in southeast Alaska to Prince William<br />

Sound for use in the herring fishery. However, it is apparently not established in the Gulf of Alaska.<br />
