Comments: The native range of the catadromous Lates calcarifer is the "eastern edge of the Persian Gulf to China,<br />

Taiwan and southern Japan, southward to southern Papua New Guinea and northern Australia" (FishBase). It has been<br />

introduced into the Yellow Sea and perhaps other part of China for mariculture (UNDP/GEF, 2007).<br />
