Comments: Ascophyllum nodosum is used to pack bait worms and lobster from the Atlantic coast. It has been found<br />

periodically in San Francisco. It was thought to be eradicated in 2002; however, mats were found in 2008. It appears<br />

that this species is regularly introduced "but manages to thrive locally only occasionally" (Miller, 2008).<br />
