Comments: Parathroscinus murphyi is native to Southeast Asia (holotype described from Singapore). This beetle was
first recorded from Hawaii in 1996 and has become abundant in mangrove habitats. Carlton and Eldredge (2009)
suggest that it was introduced via ballast water.
