Comments: Atrichopogon sp. (Carlton Eldredge, 2009) was first reported from Hawaii in 1998. It occurs in Hawaiian
streams at salinities ranging from 15 to 43 psu. As is true for biting midges in general, the adult is presumably terrestrial.
