Foodland in the Airport Center: fast and fresh<br />

A whole world of culinary opportunity awaits you at Foodland<br />

with Asian, Italian and northern European specialities on offer,<br />

to name but a few. Try a juicy burger, crisp salad, a tangy pizza<br />

or any other delectable treat from our wide range, accompanied<br />

by <strong>your</strong> favourite drink or a full-bodied espresso.<br />

Food: top-notch and delicious<br />

Those who appreciate fine Italian cuisine will feel at home in<br />

our full service restaurant in Check-in 2, while aviation buffs<br />

can enjoy views of the aprons and runways from the self-service<br />

restaurant and lovers of Asian delicacies can dine to their<br />

hearts content in the restaurant at Check-in 1. The Airport Hotel<br />

offers Mediterranean cuisine from Italy, and the grill restaurant<br />

is open in the evening for those who would prefer a specialty<br />

meat or fish dish.<br />

Just arrived back in Switzerland and need to restock<br />

<strong>your</strong> refrigerator? Or perhaps you’d like something to<br />

take on board with you? The 85 or so shops, restaurants<br />

and bars in the Airport Center are open to everyone on<br />

a daily basis from first thing in the morning until late in<br />

the evening.<br />

Food and groceries: fresh and varied<br />

Our grocery stores offer a vast selection of fresh produce for<br />

<strong>your</strong> daily needs, as well as Swiss specialities and delicacies.<br />

Fashion and sport: for every occasion and every season<br />

A vast array of boutiques offer the latest in leisure, business<br />

and holiday fashion, while visitors wishing to purchase bags and<br />

suitcases, sports clothing and other useful accessories will find<br />

plenty of choice in the many specialist stores.<br />

Free parking for one hour<br />

If you spend a combined total of CHF 60 or more in our<br />

restaurants, cafés and shops on the day you exit the car<br />

park, you will receive the first hour’s parking (CHF 6) free<br />

of charge. To benefit from this offer, simply present the<br />

respective shopping/food receipts at one of the outlets in<br />

the Airport Center.<br />

Tax & duty-free shopping<br />

Zurich Airport is a paradise for tax-free and duty-free<br />

shopping. Outlets are located in Transfer & Shopping<br />

Zone A and in all four gate areas, as well as in the baggage<br />

claim halls. Browse at <strong>your</strong> leisure and treat <strong>your</strong>self<br />

or <strong>your</strong> loved ones to something extra special.<br />

Large selection, low prices<br />

The tax & duty-free stores at Zurich Airport stock a huge range<br />

of Swiss and international brand-name perfumes, cosmetics,<br />

spirits and tobacco products. All these items are exempt<br />

from the respective tax and duty, and are therefore <strong>available</strong> at<br />

extremely attractive prices.<br />

Arrive and shop<br />

Purchase tax and duty-free products upon arrival at Zurich<br />

Airport. The shops, which are located in front of and inside the<br />

baggage claim halls, stock a wide range of perfumes, cosmetics,<br />

spirits and tobacco products at the usual low tax-free prices.<br />

Shoppers must present the boarding card stub for their flight at<br />

the checkout.<br />

Buy on departure – collect on arrival<br />

You can also choose to collect <strong>your</strong> tax & duty-free items purchased<br />

in the duty-free stores at Zurich Airport from the arrival<br />

duty-free stores on <strong>your</strong> return to Switzerland. This simplifies<br />

security checks abroad and saves you from having to carry the<br />

items around with you.<br />

Once you’ve passed through boarding pass control, any items<br />

purchased in the transfer and shopping zones can be deposited<br />

at the “shop & drop” counter free of charge and collected on<br />

duty-free goods such as alcohol, perfume and tobacco.<br />

Security and customs regulations<br />

Please note the current duty-free limits and value limits when<br />

importing duty-free goods and other items – this includes all<br />

goods brought into the country. Goods purchased in excess of<br />

CHF 300 per person per day are subject to taxes. Special security<br />

regulations must be observed when purchasing duty-free<br />

Opened in 2008, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport<br />

and its integrated Conference Center combine the latest<br />

business facilities with exemplary hospitality and modern<br />

design. The building is located only a short walk<br />

from the nearest check-in zone, and is the only hotel<br />

with a direct connection to the airport.<br />

If you are expecting a large number of guests for a conference<br />

Our VIP Service is designed for travellers with exceptionally<br />

high demands in terms of comfort, discretion<br />

and time management. An experienced and well-<br />

practised team of specialists is on hand to offer personal<br />

support and assistance.<br />

Arrival, departure, transfer<br />

VIPs are collected directly from the aircraft by our limousine<br />

whenever possible. The formalities are carried out quickly and<br />

you are then free to enjoy <strong>your</strong> <strong>stay</strong> in our VIP lounge. The VIP<br />

Service also simplifies border and security checks.<br />

Family <strong>Services</strong><br />

Before and after long flights, children should have the<br />

chance to let off some steam or relax. This is where<br />

Family <strong>Services</strong> can help.<br />

Unique play haven<br />

Zurich is one of the few airports in the world to offer staffed<br />

playrooms at Gates A and E. Kids can have fun and play to their<br />

heart’s content, while parents and infants can enjoy some peace<br />

and quiet. Children should always be accompanied by at least<br />

one adult as this is not a childcare or babysitting service.<br />

Facilities for passengers with babies<br />

Changing tables, baby care products and a room with a cot<br />

where babies can be breastfed and rested are <strong>available</strong> to<br />

parents with young children. Baby foods, juices, bottles,<br />

dummies and nappies are also provided.<br />

The service is free of charge and is <strong>available</strong> to passengers of<br />

all airlines. We have a team of fully qualified child carers who<br />

speak various languages. They are there to ensure the wellbeing<br />

of children of all ages.<br />

Special assistance<br />

Our special assistance staff at Zurich Airport will accompany<br />

children and inexperienced travellers to their plane. If<br />

you require assistance, please state this when you book <strong>your</strong><br />

flight. You should arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to<br />

departure and proceed directly to <strong>your</strong> airline’s check-in desk,<br />

where the procedure will be explained to you.<br />

Information for passengers with restricted mobility<br />

Zurich Airport offers travel assistance to passengers whose<br />

mobility is restricted due to disability or age. This free service<br />

is provided by careport AG. The careport team will<br />

accompany you from arrival through to boarding, and on<br />

<strong>your</strong> way back from the plane to the Arrival hall, and will<br />

help you through check-in, passport control, customs and<br />

security, as well as when checking in or reclaiming <strong>your</strong> baggage.<br />

Medical services<br />

The Medical Center and Dental Center (including dental<br />

hygiene) are located in the public zone. Emergency medical<br />

treatment is possible without an appointment. Appointments<br />

are required for consultations with Dental <strong>Services</strong>.<br />

Spiritual guidance, prayer room<br />

The prayer room is a place of tranquillity which is open to travellers<br />

of all faiths and denominations for mediation and prayer.<br />

It is located in the public zone and is accessible to all visitors to<br />

the airport. <strong>Services</strong> are held on a regular basis. A prayer room<br />

has also been set up for passengers in Transfer Zone D. Pastors<br />

are <strong>available</strong> around the clock.<br />

Pet care and supervision<br />

Our qualified animal care workers are on hand to answer questions<br />

concerning the transportation of animals and their care<br />

and supervision at the airport.<br />

Day rooms and rest area<br />

Simply furnished single, double and family rooms with single<br />

beds, a wash basin, TV set and near-by shower/WC are <strong>available</strong><br />

to rent. Towels, shower gel and hairdryers can be used free<br />

of charge. The rest area, complete with twelve individual reclining<br />

chairs, also provides a suitable place to take a nap or spend<br />

the night. Woollen blankets, showers/WC and lockers are all<br />

<strong>available</strong>.<br />

Public shower facilities<br />

Public shower facilities are <strong>available</strong> at Gates B (6 a.m. to 10<br />

p.m.), next to the day rooms in Transfer Zone D (open round the<br />

clock) and next to the Service Center by car park 2 (6 a.m. to 10<br />

p.m.).<br />

Airport Fitness<br />

Operated by Bad Zurzach, “Airport Fitness & Wellness” spans<br />

2,000 m 2 (incl. sauna and steam bath, traditional Chinese medicine,<br />

massages, solariums and collagen body waves) and is<br />

open to everyone. It is located on the basement floor of the<br />

Radisson Blu Hotel.<br />

The wide variety of treatments on offer at Be Relax includes<br />

Service Center<br />

The Service Center team on the top floor of the Airport Center/<br />

car park 2 is responsible for: left luggage (open from 6 a.m. to<br />

10.30 p.m.), hotel reservations, showers, parking, courier, fax<br />

and copying services, sale of airport vouchers and event tickets,<br />

rental and repair of prams and child car seats, hire of bikes,<br />

inline skates and wheelchairs, hire of display space for brochures,<br />

etc., booking of bus tours, sale of ZürichCards.<br />

The Switzerlandinfo+ desk is located in Arrival 2 and acts as<br />

a platform for various hotels and tourist regions in Switzerland.<br />

Other services on offer include the sale of rail tickets and<br />

ZürichCards, hotel reservations, guided tour bookings and information<br />

Computer stations are located throughout the public and passenger<br />

zones and can be used subject to a charge. WLAN is<br />

<strong>available</strong> in the public zone in the Airport Center, the Radisson<br />

B, D and E, Transfer Zones A and D, and in all lounges.<br />

services are located in the public zone. You can withdraw Swiss<br />

francs and euros from ATMs in both the public and the passenger<br />

zones, while staffed currency exchange desks are also <strong>available</strong><br />

in the passenger zone.<br />

UBS and Credit Suisse offer comprehensive private banking services<br />

at Zurich Airport.<br />

Post office, Postomat<br />

The airport post office (8060 Zurich-Airport) and a Postomat<br />

are located in the Airport Center. A further Postomat can be<br />

found in Arrival 1.<br />

On leaving Switzerland, foreign visitors are entitled to<br />

claim a VAT refund on their purchases at Zurich Airport.<br />

The procedure is as follows:<br />

1. Obtain an export stamp<br />

Go to Swiss customs to obtain an export stamp. Present the<br />

completed Global Refund Cheque and the purchased goods.<br />

2. Collect <strong>your</strong> VAT refund<br />

Present the stamped Global Refund Cheque at the Global<br />

Blue Cash Refund Office, where you will receive <strong>your</strong> VAT<br />

refund in cash or transferred to <strong>your</strong> credit card.<br />
