Zurich Airport has three check-in zones (1, 2 and 3) and four
gate areas (A, B, D and E). For your comfort and convenience,
our spacious shopping and waiting areas are only a very short
walk away, as are the departure gates.

airport railway station and
can also be accessed directly

your thirst? We’ll ensure you’re well looked after in our
wide range of restaurants, cafés and bars.
Foodland in the Airport Center: fast and fresh
A whole world of culinary opportunity awaits you at Foodland
with Asian, Italian and northern European specialities on offer,
to name but a few. Try a juicy burger, crisp salad, a tangy pizza
or any other delectable treat from our wide range, accompanied
by your favourite drink or a full-bodied espresso.
Food: top-notch and delicious
Those who appreciate fine Italian cuisine will feel at home in
our full service restaurant in Check-in 2, while aviation buffs
can enjoy views of the aprons and runways from the self-service
restaurant and lovers of Asian delicacies can dine to their
hearts content in the restaurant at Check-in 1. The Airport Hotel
offers Mediterranean cuisine from Italy, and the grill restaurant
is open in the evening for those who would prefer a specialty
meat or fish dish.

Shopping in the public zone
Just arrived back in Switzerland and need to restock
your refrigerator? Or perhaps you’d like something to
take on board with you? The 85 or so shops, restaurants
and bars in the Airport Center are open to everyone on
a daily basis from first thing in the morning until late in
the evening.
Food and groceries: fresh and varied
Our grocery stores offer a vast selection of fresh produce for
your daily needs, as well as Swiss specialities and delicacies.
Fashion and sport: for every occasion and every season
A vast array of boutiques offer the latest in leisure, business
and holiday fashion, while visitors wishing to purchase bags and
suitcases, sports clothing and other useful accessories will find
plenty of choice in the many specialist stores.
Free parking for one hour
If you spend a combined total of CHF 60 or more in our
restaurants, cafés and shops on the day you exit the car
park, you will receive the first hour’s parking (CHF 6) free
of charge. To benefit from this offer, simply present the
respective shopping/food receipts at one of the outlets in
the Airport Center.

Tax & duty-free shopping
Zurich Airport is a paradise for tax-free and duty-free
shopping. Outlets are located in Transfer & Shopping
Zone A and in all four gate areas, as well as in the baggage
claim halls. Browse at your leisure and treat yourself
or your loved ones to something extra special.
Large selection, low prices
The tax & duty-free stores at Zurich Airport stock a huge range
of Swiss and international brand-name perfumes, cosmetics,
spirits and tobacco products. All these items are exempt
from the respective tax and duty, and are therefore available at
extremely attractive prices.
Arrive and shop
Purchase tax and duty-free products upon arrival at Zurich
Airport. The shops, which are located in front of and inside the
baggage claim halls, stock a wide range of perfumes, cosmetics,
spirits and tobacco products at the usual low tax-free prices.
Shoppers must present the boarding card stub for their flight at
the checkout.

Buy on departure – collect on arrival
You can also choose to collect your tax & duty-free items purchased
in the duty-free stores at Zurich Airport from the arrival
duty-free stores on your return to Switzerland. This simplifies
security checks abroad and saves you from having to carry the
items around with you.

Once you’ve passed through boarding pass control, any items
purchased in the transfer and shopping zones can be deposited
at the “shop & drop” counter free of charge and collected on
your return. Please note that this service does not include tax &
duty-free goods such as alcohol, perfume and tobacco.

Security and customs regulations
Please note the current duty-free limits and value limits when
importing duty-free goods and other items – this includes all
goods brought into the country. Goods purchased in excess of
CHF 300 per person per day are subject to taxes. Special security
regulations must be observed when purchasing duty-free
items.

Business: accommodation
and conferences
Opened in 2008, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport
and its integrated Conference Center combine the latest
business facilities with exemplary hospitality and modern
design. The building is located only a short walk
from the nearest check-in zone, and is the only hotel
with a direct connection to the airport.
Designed for maximum comfort and convenience
The 330 guest rooms are modern in design and offer an outstanding
level of comfort. The hotel also has two fantastic restaurants
as well as a bar, the exciting Atrium Lobby and a fitness

Professional reception of conference guests
If you are expecting a large number of guests for a conference
or meeting, convention desks can be hired in Arrival 1 and 2.
You can also have your conference guests collected from the
aircraft courtesy of the VIP Service and taken directly to the
convention desk.

Our VIP Service is designed for travellers with exceptionally
high demands in terms of comfort, discretion
and time management. An experienced and well-
practised team of specialists is on hand to offer personal
support and assistance.
Arrival, departure, transfer
VIPs are collected directly from the aircraft by our limousine
whenever possible. The formalities are carried out quickly and
you are then free to enjoy your stay in our VIP lounge. The VIP
Service also simplifies border and security checks.

Family Services
Before and after long flights, children should have the
chance to let off some steam or relax. This is where
Family Services can help.
Unique play haven
Zurich is one of the few airports in the world to offer staffed
playrooms at Gates A and E. Kids can have fun and play to their
heart’s content, while parents and infants can enjoy some peace
and quiet. Children should always be accompanied by at least
one adult as this is not a childcare or babysitting service.

Facilities for passengers with babies
Changing tables, baby care products and a room with a cot
where babies can be breastfed and rested are available to
parents with young children. Baby foods, juices, bottles,
dummies and nappies are also provided.
The service is free of charge and is available to passengers of
all airlines. We have a team of fully qualified child carers who
speak various languages. They are there to ensure the wellbeing
of children of all ages.

Care and assistance
Special assistance
Our special assistance staff at Zurich Airport will accompany
children and inexperienced travellers to their plane. If
you require assistance, please state this when you book your
flight. You should arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to
departure and proceed directly to your airline’s check-in desk,
where the procedure will be explained to you.
Information for passengers with restricted mobility
Zurich Airport offers travel assistance to passengers whose
mobility is restricted due to disability or age. This free service
is provided by careport AG. The careport team will
accompany you from arrival through to boarding, and on
your way back from the plane to the Arrival hall, and will
help you through check-in, passport control, customs and
security, as well as when checking in or reclaiming your baggage.

and has experience in handling guide dogs.

Medical services
The Medical Center and Dental Center (including dental
hygiene) are located in the public zone. Emergency medical
treatment is possible without an appointment. Appointments
are required for consultations with Dental Services.

Spiritual guidance, prayer room
The prayer room is a place of tranquillity which is open to travellers
of all faiths and denominations for mediation and prayer.
It is located in the public zone and is accessible to all visitors to
the airport. Services are held on a regular basis. A prayer room
has also been set up for passengers in Transfer Zone D. Pastors
are available around the clock.

Pet care and supervision
Our qualified animal care workers are on hand to answer questions
concerning the transportation of animals and their care
and supervision at the airport.

Day rooms and rest area
Simply furnished single, double and family rooms with single
beds, a wash basin, TV set and near-by shower/WC are available
to rent. Towels, shower gel and hairdryers can be used free
of charge. The rest area, complete with twelve individual reclining
chairs, also provides a suitable place to take a nap or spend
the night. Woollen blankets, showers/WC and lockers are all
available.

Public shower facilities
Public shower facilities are available at Gates B (6 a.m. to 10
p.m.), next to the day rooms in Transfer Zone D (open round the
clock) and next to the Service Center by car park 2 (6 a.m. to 10

Airport Fitness
Operated by Bad Zurzach, “Airport Fitness & Wellness” spans
2,000 m 2 (incl. sauna and steam bath, traditional Chinese medicine,
massages, solariums and collagen body waves) and is
open to everyone. It is located on the basement floor of the
Radisson Blu Hotel.

Be Relax
The wide variety of treatments on offer at Be Relax includes
manicures, pedicures, aromatherapy, refreshing facials and back
and foot massages. Be Relax can be found in three locations in
Transfer & Shopping Zone A, Gates B and D, and in Dock E.

Service Center
The Service Center team on the top floor of the Airport Center/
car park 2 is responsible for: left luggage (open from 6 a.m. to
10.30 p.m.), hotel reservations, showers, parking, courier, fax
and copying services, sale of airport vouchers and event tickets,
rental and repair of prams and child car seats, hire of bikes,
inline skates and wheelchairs, hire of display space for brochures,
etc., booking of bus tours, sale of ZürichCards.

Information desks
Information desks are located at Check-in 2, Arrival 1 and Transfer
& Shopping Zone A.
Switzerlandinfo+
The Switzerlandinfo+ desk is located in Arrival 2 and acts as
a platform for various hotels and tourist regions in Switzerland.
Other services on offer include the sale of rail tickets and
ZürichCards, hotel reservations, guided tour bookings and information
on Zurich Airport.
Surf points and WLAN
Computer stations are located throughout the public and passenger
zones and can be used subject to a charge. WLAN is
available in the public zone in the Airport Center, the Radisson
Blu Hotel Zurich Airport and in the passenger zone at Gates A,
B, D and E, Transfer Zones A and D, and in all lounges.
Smoking lounges
There are numerous smoking lounges in the otherwise smokefree
airport complex.

Travel information
Flight information
Keep up-to-speed with real-time information on arrivals and
early, delayed or cancelled flights. Departing passengers will
receive information regarding check-in, gates and departure
times.
SMS Text ZRH followed by the flight number (e.g. ZRH
LX327) to 9292. You can only obtain information
about flights on that particular day. Each SMS you
receive costs CHF 0.90. Please note that this service
cannot be guaranteed.

Desks operated by some of Switzerland’s major travel agents
and tour operators are located next to Check-in 3. Here you can
book last-minute flights, city tours, holidays and business trips.
Emergency passport office
Issue of provisional passports for Swiss citizens, valid for one
year. No extensions possible. A photo booth is located close by.

Financial services
Bank counters and ATMs
Bank counters offering currency exchange and other banking
services are located in the public zone. You can withdraw Swiss
francs and euros from ATMs in both the public and the passenger
zones, while staffed currency exchange desks are also available
in the passenger zone.
Private banking
UBS and Credit Suisse offer comprehensive private banking services
at Zurich Airport.
Post office, Postomat
The airport post office (8060 Zurich-Airport) and a Postomat
are located in the Airport Center. A further Postomat can be
found in Arrival 1.
On leaving Switzerland, foreign visitors are entitled to
claim a VAT refund on their purchases at Zurich Airport.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Obtain an export stamp
Go to Swiss customs to obtain an export stamp. Present the
completed Global Refund Cheque and the purchased goods.
2. Collect your VAT refund
Present the stamped Global Refund Cheque at the Global
Blue Cash Refund Office, where you will receive your VAT
refund in cash or transferred to your credit card.
