I did wvant to ask two or three other naiiies. to see if you had any relationships
or deal<strong>in</strong>gs with them.

i~r. BERGMAN. We had bus<strong>in</strong>iess deal<strong>in</strong>gs with him, that is correct.
Senator Moss. And -what were they hav<strong>in</strong>g to (1o with, nurs<strong>in</strong>g
homes?
Dr. 13BRGMAN-. No l he is not an operator of niurs<strong>in</strong>iig homes.
Very frankly, about bus<strong>in</strong>ess negotiations, and f<strong>in</strong>ances, I would
really have to consult my office, but for the past 5 or 6 years, I have not
been active.
My children, and sons-<strong>in</strong>-law have negotiated these f<strong>in</strong>ancial th<strong>in</strong>gs.
I wvould be glad to give the committee whatever f<strong>in</strong>ancial deal<strong>in</strong>g s we
had with this person or anybody.
Senator Moss. I was just try<strong>in</strong>g to f<strong>in</strong>d out what k<strong>in</strong>d of deal<strong>in</strong>gs
you had with him.
Do you know Phillip Klutznick of IJrban Investmenit and Development
<strong>in</strong> Chicago?
Dr. BERG(.MAN. No, sir.
Senator Moss. You do not know him ?

If that is the gentleman with B'nai B'rith who was the former president
of B'nai 13'rith, I do know him fromn public meet<strong>in</strong>gs. but I have
never had any bus<strong>in</strong>ess deal<strong>in</strong>gs with him.
Senator Moss. No bus<strong>in</strong>ess with him?
Dr. BERGMAN3. If that is the Phiillip Klutzmick.
Senator Moss. WAEell. this man is f rom Chicago.
Dr. B1ER.rMAN. If that is the gentleman who was formerly president
of 3'nai B'rith. then I know him from public functions, but no bus<strong>in</strong>ess
deal<strong>in</strong>gs vwith hi mn whatsoever .

wilhat the Senator is ask<strong>in</strong>g is a list of names that appeared <strong>in</strong> the
public puess, with \which you were connected, or supposedly connected,
ancd we are giv<strong>in</strong>g you an opportunity to answer those.

Seniator Moss. Do you k<strong>in</strong>o\v the owiier or oflicer or employee of Emprise
Sports Concessions?
Dr. BERGcMArN . I never heard the nam(,e before.
Senator Moss. Did you have any bus<strong>in</strong>ess deal<strong>in</strong>gs with the First
Coniiecticut Small Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Investment Corp.?
Dr. B1.ERGmAN1. Yes, sir, some years ago, wve made a loan from them
on a nurs<strong>in</strong>g home.
Senator Moss. I wonder if you could supply for us the date and-
Dr. B1ERGM3YAN-. I will submit a correct report of that particular transaction,*
but if I recall correctly, I th<strong>in</strong>k there was one mortgage, or
somethi<strong>in</strong>g that we 5rot some years ago. but I will check the record,
and submit correctly what deal<strong>in</strong>gs we had with them.
