EMORY RUSSIAN STUDIES IN ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA<br />

Students will be able to study intermediate and advanced level Russian language<br />

for seven weeks at the Center of Russian Language at St. Petersburg <strong>University</strong> of<br />

Transportation and Communication. The center is located in the Petrogradsky region,<br />

one of the city’s most comfortable and picturesque quarters, a few blocks away from the<br />

famous Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul.<br />

EMORY SOCIOLOGY-COMPARATIVE HEALTH IN LONDON, ENGLAND<br />

June 25–August 4, <strong>2012</strong><br />

This six-week program focuses on issues and problems in health care delivery in Great<br />

Britain and the United States. Emphasis is on the comparative social organization of the<br />

two systems, contrasting the evolution and current state of the two health care systems.<br />

Daily seminars during the first week concentrate on the origins and description of the<br />

British National Health Service and the US health care system.<br />

EMORY TANGO MUSIC AND DANCE IN BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA<br />

July 8–July 28, 2011<br />

This three-week intensive course is designed for students in music and dance who are<br />

interested in studying Argentine tango in Buenos Aires, its evolution into an artistic music<br />

and dance form, and its adoption by Argentine and international art-music composers<br />

and dancers to date. The program intersects scholarly studies of tango history and culture<br />

with performance practice. It will provide an authentic, holistic experience for students to<br />

understand how theory and practice inform each other.<br />

EMORY TIBETAN MIND/BODY SCIENCES IN DHARAMSALA, INDIA<br />

May 19–June 19, <strong>2012</strong><br />

This program offers students the opportunity to join the emerging dialogue between the<br />

Tibetan Buddhist tradition of the inner science of the mind and the Western tradition<br />

of science of the external world. Students will have the opportunity to learn from some<br />

of the best teachers in the Western and Tibetan traditions, while actively engaging in<br />

dialogue with Tibetan monks and nuns.<br />
