NYCRR §133.3 Other: School Speed Zone: The following sanctions apply if a person exceeds the applicable speed limit in a school zone during a school day between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.: (1) exceeding the speed limit by ≤10 mph, a fine of not less than $90 nor more than $300; (2) exceeding the speed limit by >10 mph but ≤30 mph, a fine of not less than $180 nor more than $600 and/or imprisonment for not more than 15 days; and (3) exceeding the speed limit by >30 mph, a fine of not less than $360 nor more than $1200 and/or imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
