Course title Seminar - Statement’s forms in public communication 2. Course contents Basic terms and problems concerning journalistic types and genres. Features of informative genres. Creating simple informative texts. Reportage and its varieties. Classical and contemporary definitions of the genre. Typological indicators of journalistic genres. Workshop analysis of prominent examples of journalistic statements. Exercises preparing to independent editing chosen journalistic forms. Presentation and a trial of valuation independently created journalistic texts. Television and its genres. Rules of text analysis in media discourse. Journalist rhetoric. 3. Prerequisites None 4. Learning outcomes Graduate knows journalistic forms of statement in the process of mass communication. Student acquires knowledge of informative and journalistic genres as well as of functional these conventions’ usage. He or she is prepared to conscious, critical reception of media broadcasting. 5. Commune as a basic local life element and as a basic element of Poland’s territorial division. Local elites, local leaders. Formal aspects of local authority. Basic processes taking place in local authority’s structure. Social activity. Local citizenship. Social capital. Definitions. Trials of assessment of local activity in Polish communes. Self-government versus other entities on local life area. Private and non-governmental sector versus selfgovernmental administration. Petitions, complaints and protests. Conflicts on local level. 3.
