Political science
Studies at the political science field last three years (six semesters) and students who graduate
obtain the title of Bachelor’s higher degree. Students of this field learn how to analyze various
political processes and as a result they are able to understand the political reality on the local,
national and international level. They are able to make their own political decisions and formulate
their own opinions on various political matters.
Moreover, our students have opportunity to develop their practical abilities which could then be
used by them for instance in public administration, at political parties` structure, economic or social
organizations.
There are three different specialties within this field which can be chosen after the third semester:
public services, European integration, public communication and public relations.
Political science graduates can continue studying in order to obtain their Master’s degree at
universities.
The specialty of Public Services
Graduate of this specialty possesses an extensive knowledge of political science enriched by
basic information from other academic disciplines for instance law, sociology, psychology,
economy or management. Students also gain qualifications connected with customer service.
Graduate of this field are to become qualified personnel of the public services system in Poland.
The specialty of European Integration
Graduate of this specialty possesses an extensive knowledge of political science enriched by
basic information from other academic disciplines for instance law, sociology, psychology,
economy or management. He or she knows how the European institutions operate and is also aware
of integration processes in Europe or the European law. Graduate is prepared to work in public
administration, public and private companies or the organizations of the third sector where he or she
takes position related to the cooperation with the European institutions.
The specialty of Public Communication and Public Relations
Graduate of this specialty possesses an extensive knowledge of political science enriched by
basic information from other academic disciplines for instance law, sociology, psychology,
economy or management. Moreover, he or she is prepared to use mass-media, marketing,
promotion and dvertisement in practice thanks to the practical knowledge gained during this course.
Each graduate is also able to take positions which require not only theoretical but also practical
knowledge of public relations. These positions could be available in various companies, councils
or social organizations.
