Lecture<br />

The notion, cells and the object of media pedagogy. Her tasks and functions. History of media. Chosen models<br />

of announcing (model of the omnipotence of the propaganda, model of the transmission of signals, diffusion<br />

model etc..) Essential conceptions of information society (Francis Fukuyama, Linda Groff, Alvin Toffler, Daniel<br />

Bell etc.) Media but social pathologies and generating aggression. (. Theory of catharsis, theory of the learning<br />

etc.). Ideology .The reproduction of stereotypes and social divisions, the cultural arbitrariness but media<br />

etc.Theoretical references (Bourdieu, Foucault, Habermas, Baudrillard etc.)..<br />

Classes<br />

Mass media and the Americanization. Global teenager. Sex, body, identity in the media. Postmodernism. Popular<br />

culture - on the example chosen „ of products ” of popular culture. Advertisement – psychological mechanisms<br />

of action. Social consequences of planting in the advertisement „ of ideological discourse ”. Appropriating the<br />

social space by the advertisement. Aggressive marketing. The propaganda as the strategy of announcing in the<br />

media. Public opinion. Manipulation.<br />

4.Learning outcomes<br />

The student knows basic definitions and theoretical conceptions from the scope of announcing and media. He<br />

recognizes and he understands the media discourse in the ideological d<strong>im</strong>ension. He understands mechanisms of<br />

functioning of media. He is identifying threats and social pathologies correlating with media and the popular<br />

culture.<br />
