Methodology of social work<br />

2.Course contents<br />

Lecture and Classes<br />

Social work vs. humanities; psychological theories, social theories, psycho sociological theories. Methodology<br />

of actions in social work; two types of actions, stages of methodological actions. Actions in social work;<br />

introduction to methodological social actions. Direct methodological action; explanation – support, persuasion –<br />

influence, supervision. Indirect methodological actions: Terms of professional social work; quality of the<br />

profession, skills, working rules, approval, affirmation, objectivity, self-determination, confidentiality,<br />

reinforcement. Analysis of situation. Agreement with ward/client. Paradigm of basic type of social work; Social<br />

workers role, management of resources, education, role of education. Methods of actions. Creating the structure<br />

of methodological actions: creating groups, participants, methodological actions with groups – large groups,<br />

methodological actions with community. Methods of analysis. Analysis of situation. Sociological analysis,<br />

environmental analysis, organizational analysis, groups analysis. Agreement with ward/client; institutional<br />

aspects, what is the agreement with ward? Content of the agreement.<br />

4.Learning outcomes<br />

The students are required to be familiar with the usage of the social work techniques, making relationship, carry<br />

out community interviews, observations. They are required to become acquainted and apply the client’s<br />

motivation techniques to become active, to learn and to solve their own problems. Students acquire the ability to<br />

accomplish the social work with individual, family, colleagues and local community. They are required to gain<br />

the ability to social work, problem and conflict solving as well as performing their roles; advisors, mediators,<br />

spokesman.<br />
